The Department of Botany has organized one day Botanical study trip to its I-B. Sc. Botany students on 26.04.2022.The area of visit includes coastal site of Kanniyakumari, Vattakottai, Rasathakadu, Horticultural eco-park, Manakudi mangrove forest, Uthayagiri fort and Thirparappu water falls. A total of 25 students and two teaching staffs have participated the trip.

The purpose of the trip was to observe and collect algal specimens from the study site of coastal regions. The collected plant specimens were kept in the department museum for reference studies.
