Admission Policy
Admission will be made as per G.O.(1D) No.75 Dated 10.5.2008.
Reservation of Seats
50% seats will be reserved under minority quota for the community which runs the
college. Rest of the seats will be reserved as given below:

Of the total seats, 3% is reserved for physically handicapped, six seats for children
of ex- Serviceman of Tamil Nadu origin, 3% for sports persons in U.G. and 2% for
sports persons in P.G. on production of the required certificates. One seat is reserved
for an outstanding NCC Candidate whose application is forwarded by the Unit Commander.
Community Certificate
Photo copy of community certificate issued by the TamilNadu Govt. must be attached
with the application and the original to be shown at the time of interview. This
certificate is not necessary for forward community candidates.
Marks and Ranking
Candidates who studied at school in the revenue district of Kanyakumari will be
awarded 5 marks in addition to thier HSC marks. Ranking will be done for a total
of 205 marks, comprising a subject component of 200 and a concession component of
5 marks. Concession component of 5 marks is added to local candidates/ distinction
in NCC/ Sports/ Games / Social Services. ( 100 marks for the major subject opted
by the candidates and 50 marks for each allied subject ( Ancillary subjects). Cadidates
can Apply for as Many Major subjects as they like but they should use separate Application
Forms.
Age limit for Admission
The upper age limit for admission to under graduate courses is 21 (Twenty one Years)
as on 1st July on every Academic Year.
Submitting the application
Application duly filled in all respects should reach the Principal within 10
working days after publishing the results of the Plus Two Examination
/ UG Degree Examination and should be accomplished by Photo Copies of the following:
- Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate / UG Degree and Mark Sheet.
- Transfer Certificate from the Institution where the student last studied.
- Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied.
- Interview Card duly stamped and self addressed.
- Community Certificate.
- Certificate for children of Ex-serviceman.
- Certificate for physically handicapped candidates.
- Games/ Sports / NCC/ NSS proficiency Certificates.
Two Stamp size photographs of the candidate are necessary one to be affixed on the
application form and another for the Identity Card.
Note: Sports person who have won inter- district and state level
competitions must attach supporting evidence along with the application.
As the original certificates will not be returned before the completion of the course,
applicants are advised to take sufficient number of attested copies of the same before
admission.
Interview
The list of students selected for interview will be put on the Notice Board. The
applicant, selected for Interview, should bring his / her parent at the time of
Interview. All original certificates and marksheets should be produced at the time
of interview failing which they forfit their seats.
Marks Verification
Admission is subject to verification of mark statements by the Director of Govt.
Examinations and if the mark certificate is found to be bogus, admission is liable
for cancellation besides criminal action being taken.
Payment of Fees
At the time of admission, all students including fee concession holders except SC/ST
Candidates, should pay the first installment of the tuition, science and special
fees. A Student who leaves after he/she is admitted, will have to pay the fees for
the full year before he/she gets back his/her certificates.
Grievances
Grievances in the admission may be brought to the notice of the Regional
Joint director of Collegiate Education, Tirunelveli - 2.
