The
Competition Committee of the Department of Physics conducted Cooking
Without Fire and Elocution (English) competitions on 10th
August 2026 as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The events
aimed to encourage students to express their thoughts, creativity, and talents.
The Cooking Without Fire competition witnessed enthusiastic
participation from 10 teams, with two students
in each team. The participants displayed their creativity,
presentation skills, and culinary talents by preparing innovative dishes like
sprout chaat, vegetable sandwich, dry fruit ladoo, fruit custard, payasam and milk
shake. The Elocution (English) competition provided students
with a platform to express their ideas and opinions confidently in English. Five
students participated in the event and demonstrated their
communication skills, fluency, and confidence. Dr. T. Subitha, Associate
professor of English served as judge for English elocution. Dr. S. Ginil Mon,
Assistant professor of chemistry and Dr. V. Viji Kumar, Assistant professor of
PG Commerce served as judges for cooking without fire competition. The events
created a lively and engaging atmosphere among the students and successfully
fulfilled their aim of fostering creativity, confidence, teamwork, and
self-expression.
