The UG and PG valedictory program titled “Medical Professional Careers for Physics Students” was held on 24th March 2026 at 1:30 PM in Seminar Hall II. The program
was organized to provide insights into the opportunities and career pathways
available for physics students in the field of medical sciences. The event
witnessed the participation of 150
students and faculty members, creating an
engaging and informative environment for discussion and learning. The chief guest, Dr. Thayal Singh Elias, Professor, Division of
Radiation Physics, Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, delivered an inspiring talk
highlighting the interdisciplinary applications of physics in medicine. He
elaborated on various medical career options for physics graduates, such as medical
physics, radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging, and research in clinical and
hospital settings.
The chief guest distributed
the prizes, adding significance to the
ceremony and honoring the achievements of the students. Prizes for internal exam toppers were
presented, while awards for departmental
competitions and events organized by other institutions were sponsored by Dr. A.S. Jebamalar. The awards for the university gold
medallists were sponsored by Dr. J. Jeslin Sunitha Bai, and participation awards for the NGPE
examination were sponsored by Dr. R. Racil Jeya Geetha. The program successfully combined professional guidance with
recognition of academic and extracurricular achievements.
