The Department of Physics organized an invited talk on “Research Opportunities, Schemes, and Fellowships for Aspiring Scholars” on 19^th January 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at the Physics Seminar Hall. The invited speaker was Dr. M. Umadevi, Professor and Head, Department of Physics, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal. The session aimed to create awareness among postgraduate students about higher education, research prospects, and available fellowship opportunities. During the lecture, Dr. M. Umadevi highlighted the importance of research in shaping academic and professional careers. The speaker emphasized the eligibility criteria, application procedures, and key tips for preparing competitive fellowship and research proposals. The session was interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their queries regarding research pathways and funding opportunities.
