Department of Physics & Research Centre in collaboration with Physics Alumini Association, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam organized National Conference on Recent Advances in Science and Technology (NCRAST-2025) on 19^th September 2025. Dr. N.VictorJaya acted as convener and Dr.S.C.Jeyakumar was the co-convener. The scope of the conference is vast and covers a wide spectrum of areas including Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Cloud computing, VLSI technology, Fuel Cell, Renewable Energy, 3D printing, Nano Science and Technology, Material Science, Condensed matter physics, Computational Physics, Bio degradable materials, Polymers and plastics, Industrial Instrumentation, Robotics, Quantum Engineering, Smart materials, Image processing, Biomaterials, Communications and media etc. The main motive of the conference is to provide a lively platform for a transect of society consisting of Students, Research Scholars, Faculties, Scientists and Technologists to encounter, explore and exchange ideas about different disciplines of Physics.

The meeting started with a prayer by our Chaplain, Rev. (Mrs) Starie Princilal. Dr.D.Arul Dhas, Head of the Department of Physics, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Y.Jacob Vetharaj, Bursar presided over the meeting. Dr. S. C. Jeyakumar introduced the theme of the conference. The abstract book of the conference was released by Dr.Y. Jacob Vetha Raj and the first copy was received by the Chief Guest Mr. T. Rajendran, Senior Project Engineer (Rtd), ADNOC Gas Processing Abudhabi. Proceeding with ISBN Number 978-93-344-1275-8 was published in the conference. The inaugural session came to an end with a Vote of thanks by Dr. D.J.Gino.

Invited talks presented in the conference were “Scope and prospects of Nanotechnology” by Dr.N.VictorJaya, Professor (Rtd), Anna University, Chennai, “Evolution of industrial automation” by Mr.T.Rajendran, Senior Project Engineer(Rtd), ADNOC Gas Processing Abudhabi and “Impact of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in human life” by Dr.G.Suganthi, HoD of Computer Science and Vice Principal WCC Nagercoil. This conference gave an opportunity for the researchers to showcase their research findings among the diverse community of scientists, educators, industry professionals, and students through poster and oral presentations. There were six oral and sixteen poster presentations.

 In the valedictory function, Dr. J. Anitha Hudson welcomed the gathering. Dr. G.D.Biji, Principal (i/c), presided over the valedictory meeting. Dr.S.Sindhusha explained Conference highlights. Best Oral and Poster Award was distributed in the session, which was sponsored by Mr.T.Rajendran, Senior Project Engineer(Rtd), ADNOC Gas Processing Abudhabi. Participants provided positive feedback. Valedictory address for the conference was given by Dr.N.VictorJaya, Professor (Rtd), Anna University, Chennai. The conference ended with a Vote of thanks by Mr.C.Sathish Indra Kumar, Treasurer, Physics Alumni Association(Co-convener) followed by the National Anthem.
