An awareness program “Empowered Living“ was organized by the Counseling cell,  department of Physics on 15^th September  2025, at 1.40 pm in Seminar Hall II. The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed chief guest Dr. Fr. J. Francis Xavier Nelson, Director, Thiruppumunai Addiction Ministry, Nagercoil. Dr. D. Aruldhas gave the presidential address and introduced the chief guest. The chief guest in his talk, focussed on how students fall into the trap of drug abuse due to reasons like peer pressure, curiosity, influence of media and easy availability of drugs. This awareness program highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy drug-free lifestyle. Rtn. Er. V. Shiva Chandran, President, Kottar Diocese Counseling Commission and Robert Sahayam, Certified Addiction Counselor also accompanied the chief guest and shared their thoughts.
