The
Department of Physics and Research Centre, organized colourful Thiruvonam
celebration on 4th September 2025 at the M.Sc. Lab from 1:30 p.m.
The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and active participation from
students and faculty members, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and spirit
of Onam. The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered melodiously by
invoking divine blessings. This was followed by the Welcome Address, welcoming
the dignitaries, staff, and students. The day’s events included a variety of
cultural performances such as Thiruvathira, group dances, and songs, which added
to the festive spirit. A special session on the significance of Onam was also
presented, highlighting its cultural and historical importance. The prizes were
distributed to the winners of Thiruvathira dance competition organized by
Youth Welfare, encouraging the talents of students. A beautifully designed
Athapookolam decorated the venue, creating a traditional Onam atmosphere. The
programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who
contributed to the success of the event. The celebration not only provided a
platform for students to showcase their talents but also fostered unity,
cultural pride, and joy among the Physics fraternity. The event was memorable
and truly reflected the essence of Onam – harmony, prosperity, and togetherness.
