A State level workshop on “Sample Preparation and Data Acquisition” was conducted by the Physics Department on 03/10/2019. Dr. J. Thampi Thanka Kumaran, Principal, Malankara Catholic College, Mariyagiri was the Chief Guest. 141 participants from various institutions attended the workshop.

            The apparatus demonstration by the staff was divided into 6 groups. Group 1 was headed by Dr S.E. Joema and Dr. P.J. Jegan Babu, they demonstrated magnetic stirrer and pH meter. Group 2 was headed by Dr. A.S Jebamalar, Dr. M. Ajitha Sweetly and Dr. R. Racil Jeya Geetha and they demonstrated pelletizer, megohm meter and circulating water bath. Group 3 was headed by Dr. R. Sheela Christy, Dr. L.Padmaja, Dr. S. Jeslin Sunitha Bai and they demonstrated Raman Spectrometer and polarimeter. Group 4 was headed by Dr. D. Arul Dhas and Dr. S. C. Jeyakumar demonstrated IR spectrometer. Group 5 was headed by Dr. E. Ashlyn Kirupa and Dr. T. Asenath Benitta and they demonstrated UV spectrometer. Group 6 was headed by Dr. O. V. Mary Sheeja and she demonstrated water purifer. In the valedictory session certificates were distributed and feed back was given positively by the participants. The valedictory session came to an end with the National Anthem.
