International Conference on Smart and Renewable Materials

(ICSRM-2025)

30th & 31st January 2025

            Department of Physics and Research Centre, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam organized an International Conference on Smart and Renewable Materials (ICSRM- 2025) during 30th & 31st January 2025. Dr. R. Racil Jeya Geetha acted as convener and Dr. S. Jeslin Sunitha Bai & Dr. J. Anitha Hudson acted as co-conveners. The scope of the conference is vast and covers a wide spectrum of areas Spectroscopy, Crystallography, Nanomaterials, Solar Cells, Biomaterials, Nuclear Physics, Density Functional Theory, Thin Films, Energy Materials, Modelling and Simulations, Composite Materials, Material Science, Astro Physics and Environmental Physics etc. The main motive of the conference is to provide a lively platform for a transect of society consisting of Students, Research Scholars, Faculties, Scientists and Technologists to encounter, explore and exchange ideas about different disciplines of Physics.

            The meeting was started with a prayer by our Chaplain, Rev. (Mrs) Starie Princilal. Dr. D. Arul Dhas, Head of the Department (aided), welcomed the gathering. Dr. R. Sheela Christy, Principal (i/c) presided over the meeting. Dr. S. C. Jeya Kumar introduced the theme of the conference. The abstract book of the conference was released, and the first copy was received by Dr. N. Victor Jeya, Professor (Rtd.), Department of Physics, Anna University, Chennai. Then Proceeding was published with ISBN Number 978-93-342-1419-2.  A special talk on metallurgy was given by Dr. Y. P. Jacob Grand, Former Director of Neurosurgery, Madras Medical College, Chennai. The inaugural session came to an end with a Vote of thanks by Dr. R. Racil Jeya Geetha (Convener) . 5 Invited talks were presented in the conference. Mr. J. R. Gokul, Director, Helix Sense Technologies, New Delhi, gave an insight into sustainability. There were ten oral and forty-six poster presentations.

            Dr. J. Anitha Hudson (Co-convener) welcomed the gathering in the valedictory function. Dr. R. Sheela Christy, Principal (i/c), presided over the valedictory meeting. Felicitation was given by Dr. A. J. S. Pravin, Correspondent-Secretary, NMCC, Marthandam. Best Oral and Poster Award was distributed in the valedictory session, which was sponsored by Dr. A. S. Jeba Malar.  Some students provided positive feedback. The conference ended with a Vote of thanks by Dr. S. Jeslin Sunitha Bai (Co-convener) followed by the National Anthem.

            We take this opportunity to express our sense of gratitude to the College Management, Correspondent and Principal for their valuable support in all our endeavours. We specially thank our HOD’s ( Aided & S.F), Teaching and Non-Teaching staff and Research Scholars for their extraordinary support and guidance. The speaker's fund received sponsorship from Er.
