SCHEME OF ‘POST-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP’ FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE MINORITY COMMUNITIES
Application Submission Period : August- November
Eligibility :

Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardians from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakh.

SCHEME OF ‘MERIT CUM MEANS BASED SCHOLARSHIP’ FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE MINORITY COMMUNITIES
Application Submission Period : August- November
Eligibility :

Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardians from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh.

CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME OF SCHOLARSHIP FOR COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Application Submission Period : August- November
Eligibility :

  1. Students who are above 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class XII of 10+2 pattern or equivalent;
  2. Pursuing regular degree courses and not correspondence or distance mode or pursuing Diploma courses;
  3. Pursuing courses at colleges/institutions recognized by All India Council for Technical Education and respective Regulatory Bodies concerned;
  4. Not availing benefit of any other scholarship schemes including State run scholarship schemes/ fee waiver & reimbursement scheme;
  5. Students with gross parental/family income upto Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum are eligible for scholarship under the scheme. Income certificate will be required only for the fresh applicants;
  6. Student changing his/ her college/institute of study will be allowed to continue/renew the scholarship provided the course of study and the institution is having valid AISHE Code; The AISHE code can be checked in the portal https://aishe.gov.in/aishe/aisheCode
  7. Students who missed to apply for renewal of application online on NSP will be allowed to apply for renewal of scholarship for subsequent year on NSP, if he/she fulfils eligibility condition for renewal;
  8. For renewal of scholarship in each year of study, besides getting at least 50% marks in the Annual Examination, maintenance of adequate attendance of at least 75%, will also be the criteria. Complaints against the student regarding any in disciplined or criminal behaviour including any complaints of having indulged in ragging, will lead to forfeiture of scholarship;
  9. Beneficiaries/ Applicants under the scheme must apply online in the National Scholarships Portal (www.scholarships.gov.in) for the fresh/ renewal scholarships. Fresh/Renewal applications sent directly to the Ministry of Education shall not be accepted
CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME OF SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
Application Submission Period : August- November
Eligibility :

  1. The general conditions of eligibility of all the components of the scheme are given below:
  2. The Scholarships are open to nationals of India only
  3. All the six scholarships are applicable to students with disabilities with 40% and above and having a valid certificate of disability as prescribed under rules issued by the competent authority. Disability is as defined in “Rights of persons with disabilities Act, 2016.
  4. Not more than two children with disabilities of the same parents will be entitled to receive benefits of the scheme. Provided in case the second child is a twin, the scholarship under this scheme will be admissible to both the twins.
  5. Scholarships for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, she / He would not get scholarship for that class for a second (or subsequent) year.
  6. A Scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship / Stipend. If awarded any other scholarship / stipend, the student can exercise his/her option for either of the two scholarship/stipends, whichever is more beneficial to him/her and should inform the awarding authority through the Head of the Institution about the option made. No scholarship will be paid to the students under this scheme from the date he/she accepts another scholarship/stipend. The students can however, accept free lodging or a grant or ad-hoc monetary help from the state Government or any other source for the purchase of books, equipment or for meeting the expenses on board and lodging in addition to the scholarship amount paid under this scheme.
  7. Scholarship holders who are receiving coaching in any of the pre-examination training centres with financial assistance from the Central Government / State Government will not be eligible for stipend under the coaching schemes for the duration of the coaching programme.

 

NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP & SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION OF SCHEDULED TRIBE STUDENTS
Application Submission Period : August- November
Eligibility :

The Fellowship/ Scholarship will be available only to the ST candidates who fulfil the following conditions for the award:

Fellowship:

  1. The candidate belonging to ST should have passed the Post-Graduation examination for being eligible for the Fellowship. The candidate should get admission and registration for regular and full time M.Phil / Ph.D Courses in University / Academic Institutions recognized by UGC under Section 2 (f) of the UGC Act / ICAR by fulfilling conditions of admission of that University/Institution.
  2. The list of University/Academic Institution as referred to in sub para (i) above shall be identified by ministry.
  3. The ST students once considered eligible for the Fellowship shall not be entitled for any other scholarship of the Centre or State Government the same study.
  4. The fellowship shall be payable once the student has secured admission and started the research work.
  5. In order to qualify for Senior Research Fellowship a candidate will have to fulfil the UGC/ICAR norms prescribed in this regard.

Scholarship:

  1. ST students who have secured admission in the notified Institutions according to the norms prescribed by the respective Institutions will be eligible for the scholarship under the scheme.
  2. The student will be eligible to join only the list of Institution identified by Ministry.
  3. The total family income of the candidate to be eligible for this scholarship from all sources should not exceed Rs.6.0 lakh per annum.
